{Chris, Kristie, Taylor & Avery}
Same gorgeous October day, different family 🙂 I had the pleasure of meeting this family and their newest addition… sweet little Avery. She’s just 3 months old and was an absolute doll! Taylor is a great older sister. She knows just what to do to get little Avery to smile. She calls her “pretty girls” 🙂 Chris is surrounded by women and I don’t think he’d have it any other way!
Mom & Dad with the new baby… so much love!
Taylor was an expert poser!
It was great getting to know all of you yesterday! Taylor, I think you would make a great vet 🙂 Chris & Kristie, you make a wonderful pair. Hope you enjoy the pictures!

{The Austin Family}
Middle of October. Eighty Degree Weather. I don’t think those two things typically belong together – especially in Michigan – but this weekend was the exception. Typically when you think fall photos, you picture sweaters. Although it made for some great photos, the Austin family and I were sweating! Don’t get me wrong – I am not complaining. I would take the 80 degree weather over blustery cold fall days (and definitely over SNOW) any day, but it did make for a hot session! We met yesterday morning at Asylum Park (can you tell that’s becoming one of my favorite spots?! :D) and found cool leaves, sticks, and acorns. Phil and Jen reigned their children in like pros and the kids? Happy. Smiley. Talkative. Just the way I like it! Phil decided a few months ago that Jen would appreciate a family session for her birthday, so he gave her a gift certificate for a session with me! What a great idea! 😉 Enough with the chatting… on to the pictures!
There was lots of tickling and playing going on!
And smelling of flowers…
And raspberries…
Such a happy little family!
Aren’t Cole’s eyes just beautiful!? I even got to snuggle this guy on our way out of the park!! Aren’t you jealous? 🙂
Ellee’s giggles were priceless! Daddy definitely knows how to make this one smile!
Caiden loved finding all the cool leaves… and shaking them out of the tree 🙂
Phil & Jen, you have been blessed with some beautiful kiddos!! It was a pleasure spending the morning with you guys!

{Sarah & Greg}
Engagement. Such an exciting time in your life. Dresses, Reception Halls, Flowers… so many decisions to make, but somehow it all comes together in the end. Sarah & Greg are just starting this journey. They’ve only been engaged for a few weeks, but Sarah isn’t wasting any time! When she called to do an engagement session, I was more than happy to oblige. Greg was in town for the weekend, I had an open evening, and the rain held off! Really can’t ask for much more than that 🙂
Aren’t they adorable?!
Sarah & Greg, it was great meeting. I’ll make sure to practice my wheels-on-the-bus if we ever do this again! 😉 Thanks for braving the cold. Happy planning!

{Darcy}
Our prayers were answered! Even though it was quite chilly, the rain held off for Darcy’s senior session today!!!!! Darcy made my job a breeze… gorgeous girl, expert poser and just all around fun! She wanted something a little edgy for her senior pictures and I don’t think we did too bad! 🙂 This is by far my largest preview yet, but stick around… it’s worth it!
Darcy, it was a pleasure meeting you today! Best of luck next year in Tennessee, I’m sure you will succeed in anything you choose to do! Enjoy the rest of your senior year!

{The Olson Family}
You know those people you meet and you just instantly want to become friends and hang out?? That was the Olson Family. Rachel & Josh have been married for 5 years and you can tell they are still very much in love. Insert Josiah and you have a perfect little family! They came down from Otsego this morning to spend some time in the park capturing the fall colors. Well, the trees haven’t really turned all that much, but it was still beautiful scenery and the morning light was just perfect! We had a fun time running around the park as I had sticks and rocks thrown “toward” me 🙂 Hey, whatever it takes to get a smile!
Josiah’s pleasure is food. Ice cream… popcorn… you mention it, he smiles 🙂
Look at this gorgeous morning light!!!
Dirt, sticks, rock.. they’re pretty much GOLD to this little guy 🙂
Rachel, Josh & Josiah, it was truly a pleasure spending the morning with you! You have been blessed with such a beautiful family. Thanks for letting me capture it for you!

{Brandy}
On my way to Brandy’s senior session, it started sprinkling. I got out of the car and thought to myself, “This is a really blustery fall day!” and I immediately pictured Winnie the Pooh. Really. I did. You know, his little scarf blowing in the wind??… Anyway, it had stopped sprinkling, so I was hoping it would hold off long enough to get some great pictures of Brandy, and it did!! We meandered around Crane Park with Brandy’s mom and clan and had a great time!
Thanks for coming all the way to Kalamazoo, Kaye & Brandy! It was great meeting you! Brandy, hope you enjoy the rest of your senior year!
{Our Family}
I’ve been wanting to do some photos of our family for awhile now and we finally had the perfect evening! The plan was to head to the apple orchard and get some fall photos, but since we arrived 20 minutes before they closed (lesson learned: check hours of operation) we decided to take the party elsewhere 🙂 Where else but Asylum Park, our new favorite place to take evening walks! We had a blast setting up the tripod in random places and trying to get Eli to smile at the unmanned camera! Hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed taking them!
Can’t you tell that Eli just adores his daddy. Love these two so much!
Last but CERTAINLY not least, our favorite of the night. I ordered this in a 24×36 on foamboard for our living room wall. That’s 2’x3′!!!!!! It should be here tomorrow and I am giddy!!!
If you’re interested in having some fall photos taken of you and your family, my weekends are filling up fast so shoot me an e-mail!

{Caleb}
I think this might be the first session I’ve come home from and not wanted to take a nap. Typically, I work pretty hard for my shots. Singing, silly faces, playing lots of peek-a-boo and, of course, chasing down my subject(s). Let’s just say I didn’t have to do any of that for Caleb! In fact, if I would’ve, I think he might have thought I was a little nuts! That’s because Caleb’s a SENIOR!!! This was my first go at a senior session and I really enjoyed it! Hope you enjoy the results!
Caleb brought his motorcycle with him…
Thanks for hanging out today, Caleb, Jenny & Cheryl! Hope you guys had fun!
